Update: The CDC and WHO have formally declared the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency. Travel insurance companies have given notice that future COVID-19 related claims may be impacted by the change in official policy. All tours will resume normal operations on 7/1. We are carefully monitoring the situation closely and will notify you of any changes.

Health + Safety Protocols

Providing a safe and comfortable trip is our top priority. The following information outlines our current COVID-19 Prevention Protocol on tour. However, the elimination of risk cannot be guaranteed. We cannot bear the responsibility for an infection during travel, but we will do our best to assist with handling arrangements for guests.

  1. All participants must have at least two doses of vaccines and meet requirements for the destination.
  2. Please follow basic CDC guidelines. Cover coughs and sneezes with your arm or mask.
  3. Masking will be strictly enforced on trains, busses, and other enclosed spaces.
  4. On tour self-testing:
    1. Guides – From April 18, we will test every 2 days and announce results in group chat each morning before meeting travelers.
    2. Guests – Daily reporting not required. However, in the event of special circumstances or if a guest is observed to have symptoms, our guide will reserve the right to request immediate testing in order to protect the health of the entire group, and guests shall not refuse. If a guest refuses, we reserve the right to ask them to leave the tour. Thanks for your understanding!

If a traveler tests positive on tour:

  1. With consideration for the safety and health of all VIP guests and staff members on tour, our team will discuss options for leaving the tour or separate travel with guests who have been infected and those who have shared a room with them. Other guests will continue the tour with self-monitoring and preventative measures.  In the event of a positive case, standard protocols will be implemented accordingly.
  2. Expenses incurred from leaving the tour or separate travel will be borne by the guests, including extra accommodations, COVID testing, recovery certificates, transportation, and return flights. If travel insurance is in place, claims can be made based on the coverage of the policy. Please note expenses arising from a separate travel option will need to be paid by the guests; there are currently no insurance companies which cover such costs.

From Jan 1 2024, Vaccination requirements will be based on the regulations per country. Supera will no longer require vaccinations, but other elements of Prevention Protocols will remain unchanged. This policy may be adjusted based on further assessment of global conditions.

(Updated 6/12/2023. Supera evaluates changing global travel conditions regularly. We reserve the right to adjust these temporary protocols any time.)
