The 500-mile sea passage between Cape Horn, Chile, and the South Shetland Islands is one of the world’s most renowned straits, famous for its extremely harsh sea conditions.
Sailing through the Drake Passage en route to Antarctica’s Antarctic Peninsula.
Entering a time zone of nearly 24 hours of daylight, Days 6 to 10 will focus on exploring the Antarctic Peninsula and the surrounding icy seas. The exact landing sites will be determined based on sea and weather conditions at the time.
Days 10–11: Sailing between the South Shetland Islands and South Georgia Whale Watching: This stretch of ocean is home to large whales, offering a great chance to spot fin whales, southern right whales, and even the largest animal on Earth—the blue whale! Albatrosses and petrels glide past the ship, presenting another exciting challenge for photographers. Presentations from expedition experts will help us prepare for the incredible wildlife encounters awaiting us on South Georgia.
